Soffis

Female · Adult · 4 years

A girl who needs time, commitment and a lot of love Soffis is a mixed-breed girl with Malamute and Poodle in her background. When she arrived at Hundstallet, she was very insecure and had difficulty trusting people. Being tied up, handled and meeting new people was particularly challenging. With time, patience and a lot of encouragement, she has made an amazing development. Today, Soffis lives in a foster home, where she really has had the opportunity to land and discover that the world doesn't have to be so scary. When she feels safe, her lovely personality comes out more and more. She is a playful, cuddly and a bit silly girl who likes to come up with little pranks. Above all, she loves being close to her humans. Soffis is a dog with a lot of personality and a big heart. She has really shown how far you can come when you get time, security and the right conditions. The foster home says: "Soffis is an incredibly loyal and loving dog who likes to stay close to her human. She loves to cuddle, socialize and do things together and has a lovely humoristic side that likes to show itself on walks and in everyday life. She is also a smart girl who likes to use her head. With a little challenge, positive reinforcement and someone who makes the training fun, she learns quickly and really appreciates the feeling of working together with her human. At the same time, you need to remember that her security has been built up over time and needs to continue to grow in her new home. Soffis is still, and probably always, initially skeptical of new people. When she meets someone she doesn't know, she can bark and needs time to build trust. However, she is very loving towards the people she knows and forms strong bonds with her people. Soffis also has a coat that requires regular care, and it's important that her new family is willing to keep up with it and make coat care a natural part of everyday life." Soffis is currently living in a foster home with two other dogs and a cat, and it works well. However, she does not need a dog friend in her next home, but she seems to be very happy to have her human for herself. Therefore, she can live very well as a single dog, but she could also fit with a safe and well-matched dog of approximately the same size. Since Soffis has a clear resource defense against other dogs, it's important that a possible dog companion is introduced in a thoughtful way and that her new family understands this. She has also shown that she can live with a dog-savvy cat and could continue to do so in her new home. Above all, she is looking for a person who is calm, secure and consistent, but at the same time warm and responsive. Soffis needs routines and clear boundaries and a person who doesn't rush, but lets the relationship develop at her pace. She will probably always need some time before she feels secure with new people, but when she finally lets you in, she forms incredibly strong bonds. In return, you get a very special dog - smart, funny, loyal and full of cuddles, mischief and love. About Soffis

What life with Soffis looks like

Soffis is a small adult dog waiting at Hundstallet in Stockholm.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Soffis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Soffis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundstallet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Soffis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Soffis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundstallet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Soffis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Soffis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundstallet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Soffis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
