Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this pet now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! When you look into Solveig's clever eyes, it seems as if she is asking how she ended up here. Behind bars, in a place full of noise and little time for affection and love. The delicate mouse is only two years old and is still at the beginning of her young life. She is about 45 cm tall, has silky black fur with a white chest, and the sweetest floppy ears you've ever seen. Solveig is a friendly and loving female dog who longs for human affection. She gets along well with other dogs, making it possible to place her in a family where she won't be the only four-legged companion. But she would also feel comfortable as an only dog. The beautiful female dog probably hasn't heard much about life as a beloved family member. Leash training, housebreaking, commands, and car rides are all new to her. However, we are confident that the smart and sensitive Solveig will quickly learn all the basics of dog life with patience and love from her new humans. After the adjustment period, attending positive reinforcement dog training classes would help further develop Solveig and deepen the bond. Solveig means "Sun Path" – would you like to accompany her on her journey to a happy and bright future? Please don't hesitate to contact us. We would also be incredibly grateful for a foster home to help Solveig escape the dreary shelter routine as soon as possible. Solveig will travel spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, with an EU pet passport to her new home. We are also very grateful to her namesake Annika, who gave Solveig her name and thus a unique identity. As of 09.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 09.05.2026

About Solveig

What life with Solveig looks like

Solveig is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Solveig, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Solveig?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Solveig on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Solveig if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Solveig already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Solveig isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Solveig and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
