Adopt Sony

Male · Young · 1 year

Sony was born in the last summer, in 2025, and had already been rehomed into a warm and safe home. Unfortunately, this handsome fellow became ill with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) and returned to our partners. Feline Infectious Peritonitis is a viral disease caused by the mutation of the feline coronavirus (FCoV), and if left untreated, it is almost always fatal. Fever, weight loss, and fluid accumulation, especially in the abdominal cavity, are typical for the wet form of FIP, while organ inflammation is typical for the dry form. Thanks to new antiviral medications, there are now very good chances of recovery. After an 84-day treatment with daily medication and the necessary waiting period, all of Sony's regular blood tests were very good. Now that the young tomcat is completely healthy again, he is looking for a family where he can finally settle down and be happy. A place where Sony can just be a young tomcat and be happy. This handsome fellow is a very affectionate and playful young tomcat. Since he really likes other cats, he will only be rehomed with another existing young cat. Alternatively, he could also bring one of his friends from Spain. The little one really enjoys cuddles and attention from humans, so he needs a nice home quickly. Sony is already neutered and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Who will give this handsome boy a forever home?

About Sony

What life with Sony looks like

Sony is a young adult cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sony, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sony?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sony on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sony if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sony already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sony isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sony and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
