Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

Age: Born around August 2025 In shelter since: lives outside the shelter Personality: curious, playful HSH – Mix: possibly arrived on: January 9, 2026 Adoption through: Hope for Paws e.V. Background and Personality: Sookie was born around August 2025 and is still in the growth phase. She lives outside the shelter. A neighbor found the small female dog completely frozen and wet on the street. He took her in, where she received all necessary vaccinations and treatments. To avoid her going to the shelter, we are looking for loving people who can give her a home. Important Information: When Sookie arrives in her new home, she will need to rest after the long and tiring journey. Her loved ones should give her this time. Note: Sookie might have a part of a Herding Dog! Once Sookie settles in, she will be happy to experience a lot with her family. Play and fun should not be missing, but cuddles should not be neglected either. Despite this, Sookie still has much to learn and needs the support of her people. These should be patient and understanding with Sookie, as she has not yet experienced much. Our young dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas, and, depending on age, neutered before travel arrangements. Additionally, every dog is in possession of an EU Companion Animal Passport. Furthermore, all dogs travel legally with Traces. The Traces monitor the entire animal traffic within the EU. Additionally, a rapid test for Mediterranean diseases is performed on dogs six months and older before travel arrangements: Borreliosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariosis, and leishmaniasis. About Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211

What life with Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211 looks like

Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211 is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Little Souls in Holtland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Little Souls handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Little Souls will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Little Souls early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sookie (im Wachstum) &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
