Adopt SPAJKI

Female · Young · 2 years

Meet SPAJKI, a girl we mistakenly listed as a boy and named Spike. We not only gave her the wrong name, but we also scheduled her spay because the kennel runs with three females. The vet told us there was nothing to spay 😁 and that we had brought a female. So Spike became SPAJKI. But it's not the extra letter in her name that troubles her, it's that no one wants her 😔. She has been in the boarding for almost a year, she grew up there because we took her in when she was still a puppy. SPAJKI wonders why no one wants her when she is beautiful, healthy, playful, loves people, children and other dogs. She keeps asking what else she needs to learn to be liked. We admit, SPAJKI isn't exactly a model on a leash, she pulls, goes one way then another because she likes to sniff and explore😇. We know it's not ideal, but if we took her out for a walk every day she would quickly learn.

Do tada će strpljivo i čekati vaš upit❣

About SPAJKI

What life with SPAJKI looks like

SPAJKI is a young adult dog waiting at Šape Smedereva in Smederevo.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇸Adopting from Serbia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting SPAJKI, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SPAJKI?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Šape Smedereva handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SPAJKI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SPAJKI if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Šape Smedereva will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SPAJKI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SPAJKI isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Šape Smedereva early rather than rehoming privately; they know SPAJKI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
