adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Speedy has found her home! Her story: Fantanele, Romania. The beautiful black Speedy with white socks looks a bit incredulous in the camera. She still can't quite wrap her head around her new life. For our little girl Speedy, life began on the street, where she was found together with her siblings Paula and Bounty. Abandoned and without a mother, they were left to fend for themselves and simply discarded. Speedy is now approximately 3 months old and weighs around 4 kilos. She is expected to reach a small to medium size with a height of about 40-45cm. Speedy is a charming puppy-dame with black fur, white legs and paws, and a white muzzle, which gives her a unique and beautiful look. Her nature is typical for a puppy: playful, friendly, and very people-oriented. She loves to play, eat, sleep, and explore the world. Currently, she still shares a cramped pen with her siblings. She gets along well with other dogs and always seeks the company of humans. To support Speedy's development, we recommend a dog training class where she can form important social connections and further develop her skills. Although we don't know exactly which breeds are in Speedy and her siblings, it's possible that herding dog or herding breed genes are present, as these are widely found in Romania. We are looking for loving people who can give Speedy a home and the care, love, and attention she deserves. She will be a faithful companion who loves new adventures. Speedy is looking forward to beautiful walks and extensive cuddle sessions on the sofa. She wishes for a more rural home, preferably with an enclosed garden. Who will give this pretty mouse her heart and a loving home? Speedy can travel microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. Thank you, Anna W.! You gave Speedy her beautiful name!

Vielen Dank Anna W.! Du hast Speedy ihren schönen Namen geschenkt!

About Speedy

What life with Speedy looks like

Speedy is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Speedy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Speedy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Speedy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Speedy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Speedy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Speedy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Speedy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
