SpencerSweet small/medium-size boy. Approx. 18 months old (May 2026) Good with other dogs and children. Meet SpencerSweet Spencer is a young male dog with lots of love to give. He had a rough start to life, living on the streets before ending up in the pound. While there, he was neutered, but sadlydidn’t recover well, he developed a cough and lost quite a bit of weight. Thankfully and thanks to his kind sponsor, Spencer was taken to a pension, where he’s now doing much better. Spencer is a typical young pup – full of energy and zest for life. He is generally good with the other dogs in his enclosure. He has also been tested with our rescuer’s children and passed with flying colours! He will need some basic training and like most young dogs will need help learning doggie manners. Spencer is a loving, playful pup who will make a wonderful addition to a family willing to invest a little time and patience. In return, he will them with loyalty, fun and endless love. Spencer is vaccinated and neutered. All our dogs are tested for the following prior to travel: Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Erlichiosis, Lyme Disease, Brucellosis (since 11th June 2021). About Spencer

What life with Spencer looks like

Spencer is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Balkan Underdogs in Tirana.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇱Adopting from Albania

Frequently asked

Adopting Spencer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Spencer?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Balkan Underdogs handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Spencer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Spencer if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Balkan Underdogs will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Spencer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Spencer isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Balkan Underdogs early rather than rehoming privately; they know Spencer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
