Spikey

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Due to Spikey, the Szurkolók az Állatokért foundation asked for help. It came from a shelter in Vas county, where unfortunately things went very wrong, so it was necessary to remove bull-type dogs as soon as possible. For now, it is reactive to everything and everyone, and there is a long road ahead before being rehomed. It loves to play with metal bowls, buckets, anything it can get its paws on. With the right hands, it can become a wonderful dog! We are looking for a consistent, breed-aware owner, who can provide care, training, and love, as the only dog in the household. It cannot move in with small children, dog school is strongly recommended! Spikey is vaccinated, chipped, and neutered and can move to its new family! More pictures HERE!

Spikey miatt a Szurkolók az Állatokért Alapítvány kért segítséget. Egy Vas vármegyei menhelyről érkezett hozzánk, ahol sajnos nagyon rossz irányba haladtak a dolgok, ezért volt szükséges a bull típusú kutyák mielőbbi kiemelése.Egyelőre mindenre és mindenkire reaktív, hosszú út áll előttünk a gazdisodás előtt. Előszeretettel játszik a fém tálakkal, vödörrel, bármivel amihez hozzá fér. Megfelelő kezek között csodálatos kutya válhat belőle!Olyan következetes, fajtaismerő gazdát keresünk számára, ahol egyedüli kutyaként élvezheti családja gondoskodását, tanítását, szeretetét. Kisgyerek mellé nem költözhet, kutyaiskola erősen javasolt!Spikey oltva, chippelve, ivartalanítva költözhet új családjába!Érdeklődni róla a e-mail címen lehet!További képek ITT! A Tetszik gomb eléréséhez sütik engedélyezése szükséges. apiKey: 'f94a516b15dff4516ffa78eb8ba036f3076dfc68',

About Spikey

What life with Spikey looks like

Spikey is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Currently reactive to everything and everyone, requires consistent training and experienced handler

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Spikey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Spikey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Spikey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Spikey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Spikey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Spikey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Spikey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
