Spotty

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Spotty is a small dog boy with a white bib, tricolor fur and small floppy ears. His coat is short and easy to care for. My caregivers say he has a particularly sweet look. Right now I live in the garden of a private foster home in Romania with my mom and siblings. There's always something new to discover every day. I run through the grass with my siblings, play with the children and watch the cats curiously. Everything is exciting and I want to be everywhere at once. I enjoy every petting session and love running up to people when they sit down. Physical contact feels good. I'm allowed to stay here for now. But our time is limited. If we don't find families, we have to move to a shelter - with many other dogs. I just want one person who will take me by the paw and show me how beautiful life can be. Maybe my bed is waiting for you? Interested? If you are interested in Spotty, please fill out our application form () or send us an email to or a message via Facebook. Spotty is ready to travel and can go with the next transport to Germany. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. This is the database system that monitors all animal traffic within the EU. The dogs travel castrated (if old enough), vaccinated, chipped and dewormed from and have an EU passport. In addition, a rapid test for the following diseases will be carried out on dogs over 12 months before departure: Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, dirofilariasis and leishmaniasis. Ralf T. has taken custody of Spotty and thus ensures that his bowl is always full. Thank you in the name of the dogs!

About Spotty

What life with Spotty looks like

Spotty is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Spotty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Spotty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Spotty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Spotty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Spotty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Spotty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Spotty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
