adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Spotty…a Dream on Four Little Paws! The little freckled girl Spotty wants to bathe in the sun with her heart's truest companion and dance through life! She thinks that the beginning of spring is exactly the right time for your personal new beginning :). The 5-year-old female dog has lived for quite some time in a foster home and has already learned so much of what a civilized dog outside of a Romanian shelter must know. She loves to go for walks and to rummage in the garden, can drive a car like a pro, and lets herself be petted very, very gladly when she knows the people. She also sleeps in the bed with her foster mom, which is her favorite hobby. Spotty lives with cats and a group of 5 dogs and gets along with all of them just fine. The little fine lady loves to lie in the sun, but she hates the rain. After getting used to her new environment, she is a self-assured, little lady who likes to have her own character and a playful sense of humor, which often comes to the fore in her familiar surroundings. She shows herself to be watchful in the house, so a multi-level apartment would only be marginally suitable. In new situations, she is still unsure and reacts fearfully to unknown noises or strangers. Then, a flight instinct sets in for her. Children are therefore not the appropriate cohabitants for Spotty. The sweet pretty mouse is looking forward to your visit! She is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas and is ready to move into her new home. Who would like to lie in the sun with Spotty and snuggle on the sofa when it rains? Many thanks! Katharina B.! You have named Spotty and support her with a monthly sponsorship. As of: 21.02. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

About Spotty

What life with Spotty looks like

Spotty is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Spotty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Spotty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Spotty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Spotty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Spotty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Spotty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Spotty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
