Adopt Spriņģe

Female

On December 26th in Riga, at the house number 24 on Ilūkste Street, a small dog was found - at least 10 years old, without a microchip and in very poor condition. The little dog was tied to a post on the side of the street so that it could go out even onto the road... After we clipped the "tuft of feathers", trimmed the long nails, and cleaned the ears, the first health check revealed a growth in the abdomen. Fortunately, the X-ray did not show metastases in the lungs. An ultrasound examination later clarified the grim picture: an inoperable growth in the liver. Otherwise, Spriņģe currently feels well and is lively. How much time she has left - no one knows. If the fact that living with this nice puppy may not be long (most likely not many years, but maybe a couple is still possible), we kindly invite you to meet her! She is kind, loving, and well-behaved. She likes going for walks, gets along well with dogs of the same breed, and most likely also won't have cats as enemies. Cik viņai vēl laika atvēlēts – to neviens nezina. About Spriņģe

What life with Spriņģe looks like

Spriņģe is a adult dog waiting at Labās Mājas in Riga.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇱🇻Adopting from Latvia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Spriņģe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Spriņģe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Labās Mājas handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Spriņģe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Spriņģe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Labās Mājas will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Spriņģe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Spriņģe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Labās Mājas early rather than rehoming privately; they know Spriņģe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (LV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
