SPRINTER

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

Sprinter is a small, incredibly charming senior dog who dreams of his own quiet corner. He doesn't need much. A soft bed, a warm home and a person he can feel safe with are enough for him. He is an exceptionally gentle and calm dog. He loves human closeness but isn't pushy. His greatest joy is resting by his owner's side, a short walk and moments of shared relaxation. Occasionally, he will approach to receive affection and petting. Sprinter gets along well with other dogs. There is also a good chance that he will get along with a cat. Due to his gentle nature, he can live with children who will be able to respect his need for peace and rest. He takes heart medication daily, so the future owner should remember to give it regularly and make periodic veterinary checks. Despite this, Sprinter functions well and nothing stands in the way of him enjoying life by the side of a loving family.

PL·Show original

To wyjątkowo łagodny i spokojny pies.

About SPRINTER

What life with SPRINTER looks like

SPRINTER is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Świdnica in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting SPRINTER, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SPRINTER?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Świdnica handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SPRINTER on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SPRINTER if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Świdnica will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SPRINTER already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SPRINTER isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Świdnica early rather than rehoming privately; they know SPRINTER and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
