Squid

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

by Cattery | Jun 24, 2026 | Cats, Female, Liverpool, Cats, Female, Liverpool This delightful lady is Squid! She came to us very heavily pregnant and went into foster to give birth to her last litter in peace. She has raised up 4 beautiful Squidlings and is now on the lookout for her own forever home. Squid is a total sweetheart and very easygoing. She will let you pick her up for cuddles and even let you hold her like a baby. She likes to sit on your knee or just be near to you. After raising this litter (and who knows how many before), Squid is a little depleted and needs a bit of TLC and love to blossom into the stunning panther we know she is. She can live with any sensible children. We think she could live with cats given slow and careful introduction. She could live with a cat-savvy dog. About Squid

What life with Squid looks like

Squid is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Squid, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Squid?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Freshfields Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Squid on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Squid if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Freshfields Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Squid already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Squid isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Freshfields Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Squid and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
