adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Stana can stay forever in your foster home! Her story: Once again, true beauty doesn't need a pedigree, as proven by the 45 cm tall Stana. Her noble black fur is accentuated by the white chest spot and the charming spotted paws. Stana had some luck and was able to travel to her foster home in 17489 Greifswald. We estimate Stana, who is around 2 years old, lived problem-free with three other dogs in a Romanian foster home until she was allowed to travel. However, she lived out in the courtyard there. Stana is a true people person: she is gentle, incredibly sweet, and a loyal gem. She approaches everything and everyone openly and friendly, winning over any sympathy effortlessly. The young Stana is a smart and active female dog who loves to have plenty of exercise. She also enjoys challenging games and tasks, proving herself during them. Additionally, she is a cuddly one who absolutely loves cuddles and never says no to treats! Since Stana is not yet accustomed to life as a house dog, a visit to a qualified dog training class would certainly be a valuable support. This way, one could accompany her upbringing and help her settle well into her new family. An only dog in her future home would not be a problem for the easy-going Stana – on the contrary, she would surely be happy about a dog buddy. She also shows compatibility with cats and could likely get used to their proximity in everyday life. Who will give their heart to the beautiful Stana? Many thanks to Astrid R. for deciding to give Stana her name. As of 21.03. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 21.03.2025

About Stana

What life with Stana looks like

Stana is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
