Stanley

Pointer · Male · Young · 3 years

Could you be my perfect match? Hello! My name is I can live with Dogs Cats Children MY story Stanley arrived with us recently from Romania. He came over with an old leg injury that we had planned to sort while he was in foster care.Unfortunately through no fault of his own his foster did not work out and he found himself in kennels and his planned X-Rays cancelled. Thankfully we have now done the X-rays and he has been given the all clear from the vet and no further treatment is needed. He is currently attending hydrotherapy to help build up the muscles in the bad leg.You would have no idea Stanley had a leg injury. He is a happy and very bouncy Pointer. He is high energy and will need lots of mental stimulation due to the fact he can’t physically meet his exercise requirements at the moment. So enrichment and brain games will be your best friend. Stanley desperately needs a sofa of his own so we can start his road to recovery. Can you help? MY PERFECT HOME Stanley will need a very secure garden as he is very bouncy so a 6ft fence might not be tall enough I would suggest a minimum of 7ft.As with all dogs on going training will be needed.Stanley needs a pet free home and children 12+ please . OUR ADOPTION PROCESS 1 Fill in application form Please fill in the form as honestly as possible. Our team will read the application and make sure it is the right match for the dog being applied for. 2 We will arrange a home check If you and the dogs seem a good fit we will call you to discuss further, arrange to meet the dog and arrange a physical home check at your home. 3 Matched with your dog Once we have agreed together that this is the right dog for you we will arrange for your dog to come to you. Depending whether this is via kennels or foster homes it may vary. 4 Ongoing Support We love to keep in touch with everyone and hope you will reach out if you have any concerns or questions. We work with a number of local trainers and behaviourists too who can provide support. About Stanley

What life with Stanley looks like

Stanley is a medium-sized young adult pointer dog waiting at Angels 4 Dogs Rescue in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stanley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stanley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Angels 4 Dogs Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stanley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stanley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Angels 4 Dogs Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stanley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stanley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Angels 4 Dogs Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stanley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
