Stelka

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 4 months

Stella, the one-eyed star, is looking for a permanent guardian. Stella came from Ukraine. What happened to her family? How did she lose her eye? We can only imagine, but we don't want to. Enough pain we saw on her face when she was undergoing treatment, fighting for her life. We cleaned her wounds, treated her mouth. Weeks, months and again. When the treatment didn't work, we tried differently. And she suffered, waited and trusted. Until one day we were together. Me and our Stella, without pain. Before the pain could be bribed, it took all of her teeth. Her gums were in a dramatic state, she couldn't open her mouth, she wouldn't eat. Today she yawns lazily, lying on the sofa, purring with pleasure when you stroke her and pamper her. Well, unless you do something wrong, then you'll purr yourself... without pleasure. Stella isn't a couch potato, she has a character, even a bit of a character. She doesn't like cat company, she tolerates it reluctantly. She's an only child, likes to play alone. And she doesn't need competition, it's not fair when someone takes the spot on the caregiver's stomach, HER caregiver's! Well, red fluffy beauties can be demanding. She's not easy to handle. Due to her dental problems, she learned to eat ground chicken breast. She eats meatballs and that's it, she spurns cat food. Well, at least she's cheaper to keep than Madame Maxime's horses, which only drank "ni mixed lice". She's not easy, but she's worth the effort. She can be a devoted clingy one, and sometimes... a cat with all the consequences of that condition. But beneath all that, she needs a lot, a lot of heart, just the kind that is not lacking among those reading our advertisement. Stella is about four years old, currently she is healthy and may remain so, because giving her medication is like an Olympic discipline. Of course, she has been spayed, dewormed, vaccinated, chipped, and her FIV and FeLV tests were negative. In short, everything is fine, just take and love! *Our love for kittens knows no bounds, therefore we carry out adoptions in Poland and abroad. ☎️ 500 383 928 📧

Stella, jednooka gwiazda poszukuje opiekuna na wyłączność Stella przyjechała z Ukrainy. Co stało się z jej rodziną? W jaki sposób straciła oko? Możemy sobie tylko wyobrażać, ale nie chcemy. Wystarczająco dużo bólu widzieliśmy na jej pyszczku, kiedy poddawana kolejnym zabiegom walczyła o życie. Oczyszczaliśmy jej rany, goiliśmy buzię. Tygodniami, miesiącami i od nowa. Kiedy leczenie nie skutkowało, próbowaliśmy dalej, inaczej. A ona cierpiała, czekała i ufała. Aż pewnego dnia zostaliśmy razem. My i nasza Stelka, bez bólu. Bywa przekochaną przylepą, a bywa... Kocicą z wszelkimi reperkusjami tego stanu. Ale pod każdą postacią potrzebuje dużo, dużo serca, właśnie takiego, jakiego nie brakuje czytającym nasze ogłoszenia. Stella ma około cztery lata, obecnie cieszy się zdrowiem i oby tak pozostało, bo podawanie jej leków zakrawa na dyscyplinę olimpijską. Oczywiście, została wysterylizowana, odrobaczona, zaszczepiona, zachipowana, a testy fiv i felv wyszły ujemne. Słowem, wszystko w porządku, tylko brać i kochać! *Nasza miłość do ślepaczków nie zna granic, dlatego prowadzimy adopcje w Polsce i poza naszym krajem. ☎️ 500 383 928 📧

About Stelka

What life with Stelka looks like

Stelka is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stelka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stelka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stelka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stelka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stelka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stelka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stelka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
