Stella and Otis

Mixed Breed · Female

Meet Stella and Otis, a beautiful mother-and-son duo who are searching for a fresh start and a loving home together. They arrived in our care after their owners made the difficult decision to ask for help when they could no longer provide the care the dogs needed. When Stella arrived, she was significantly underweight and weighed around half of what she should have. Thanks to regular meals, veterinary care and lots of TLC, she has already gained more than 3kg and continues to make fantastic progress. Despite everything she has been through, Stella has remained a happy, friendly and affectionate little dog who loves people. Otis has been by his mum’s side throughout their journey and the pair share a very special bond. They are both playful, affectionate and full of personality, with wagging tails and wiggly bodies whenever they meet new people. Stella walks nicely on the lead, has good recall and has previously lived with another dog and children. Both dogs are friendly, loving companions who enjoy attention and being part of family life. Because of the close bond they share, we would love to find Stella and Otis a permanent home together where they can continue their journey side by side. We will continue to support Stella as she gains weight and reaches her ideal condition. We would also consider a foster home for the pair if the right forever home is not immediately available. If you’re looking for two loyal companions who have so much love to give, Stella and Otis could be the perfect match. Could you offer this adorable pair the happy ending they deserve? About Stella and Otis

What life with Stella and Otis looks like

Stella and Otis is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Warrington Animal Welfare in Warrington.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stella and Otis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stella and Otis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Warrington Animal Welfare handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stella and Otis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stella and Otis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Warrington Animal Welfare will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stella and Otis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stella and Otis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Warrington Animal Welfare early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stella and Otis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
