Stevie

Female

Stevie is a stunning female ginger cat, which makes her quite the rare gem as 80% of ginger cats are male. This sweet cat came into our care as an underweight stray who is full of affection and immediately became a firm favourite with our animal care team. During her time with us she has flourished and has now gained weight as she is currently being fed four times a day but this can be reduced when Stevie has reached her ideal weight. Stevie would make a wonderful addition to any home with her incredibly friendly personality. She is very pushy with her affection and will ensure she is the centre of attention at all times. She will nudge your hands and anything you are holding in order to get as many pets as she can. She is currently using a XL litter tray as she tends to miss the tray when using smaller litter trays so we would recommend that she is provided the XL litter trays with the taller sides in her new home. This incredibly loving cat loves a head scritch and a petting session so much so that she makes the best paw biscuits to let you know how happy she is, we do recommend that she lives with slightly older children aged 12 and above as when she makes the biscuits she does get so excited that she doesn’t always retract her claws so may unintentionally hurt younger children. About Stevie

What life with Stevie looks like

Stevie is a extra-large adult cat waiting at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre in Bristol.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stevie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stevie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol Animal Rescue Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stevie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stevie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bristol Animal Rescue Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stevie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stevie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol Animal Rescue Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stevie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
