Adopt Strolch-2

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Origin Country: Hungary Strolch has been living at the animal shelter Kecskemét since September 25, 2024. He was found homeless on the streets of Nagykörös. Although he was microchipped and his previous owners were informed, no one came to pick him up. Strolch was very thin and neglected. We hope with all our hearts that he will now find people who will love him, appreciate him, and give him a second chance. At the animal shelter, Strolch is stressed and desperately needs his own home. He is an open, cheerful, and very friendly dogman who loves people and enjoys every affection. He wants to please and is eager to learn, and with a little practice, he will quickly understand the dog ABCs. Spending time with him is simply joyful. Strolch would love walks, discovery tours, cuddles, and sporting activities like hiking or jogging. Strolch is active, playful, and full of energy, and he responds well to motivation and enjoys shared mental stimulation. He gets along well with other dogs; at the animal shelter, he currently lives in the kennel with a female dog. For Strolch, we are looking for active and loving people who will challenge him physically and mentally but also give him rest and security. Whoever gives this wonderful dog time and love will gain a loyal and lively companion for life. On August 16, 2025, a volunteer, Hungarian helper wrote: "Strolch came to the animal shelter in very poor condition and severely underweight in September 2024. However, it soon became clear how affectionate and lively he is. On the mentor day, we got to know him on the animal shelter playground, where he happily romped around, enjoyed the company, and was delighted by every caress. Strolch is very people-oriented, cuddly, and loves being close. He also likes children very much. He is friendly, lovable, and kind. On the playground, he showed a lot of energy and activity, especially when someone threw him a ball, after which he ran after it enthusiastically. He responds well to motivation and uses up his excess energy. After that, Strolch went for a walk with his mentor. Excited, curious, and full of joy, he explored the world outside his pen, taking in the new smells and impressions with open and interested attention. According to his profile, he is generally compatible with other dogs or can be accustomed to them." On February 5, 2026, a volunteer, Hungarian helper wrote: "Strolch came to the animal shelter in very poor and severely underweight condition in September 2024. Life hasn't been kind to him so far. However, it's wonderful that he hasn't lost his faith in people. He likes the caregivers and his mentors very much. Strolch is an exceptionally loving, friendly, heartwarming, and people-oriented dog. On the mentor's playground and during walks, he shows joy and happiness. For him, it's most important to be near people and to receive attention and affection. He has a very positive aura and runs enthusiastically after the ball, which allows him to be challenged. Strolch needs movement, daily walks, and playful mental stimulation that his future family can provide. After that, he longs for it. He also needs a lot of love, attention, and an education based on praise, as this likely may have been lacking in his previous home. Strolch can be socialized with other dogs. Currently, he lives with a canine companion in a pen. Whoever decides to take Strolch will gain a pleasant companion and a loyal friend for life." Who can be Strolch's faithful friend? Strolch is ready for travel. Many thanks, dear Viviane Bracher, for taking over the sponsorship for Strolch!

About Strolch-2

What life with Strolch-2 looks like

Strolch-2 is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Strolch-2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Strolch-2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Strolch-2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Strolch-2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Strolch-2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Strolch-2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Strolch-2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
