Adopt Suhina-Sussu

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 8 months

A puppy named Suhina-Sussu is looking for a home in the Oulu area. Suhina-Sussu is about 8 months old, but despite his name, he is a collie and no longer a pup – except during veterinary trips. Sussu came to the association last autumn as a shy orphan puppy, but has made great strides in learning to be a house cat. Sussu is very playful by nature, and would appreciate another active cat companion in a new home to play with. With male kittens, Sussu has been sensitive to engaging in power struggles by trying to get on top of them, but with female kittens he has played quite nicely. Playing with people has also been pleasant for Sussu, whether it was string play or throwing toys. Sussu is not particular about his toys, as almost anything that can be rolled around will do, from paper scraps to whatever. Sussu is still cautious towards strangers, but he does approach them boldly, even sniffing a hand. With familiar people, Sussu can be very relaxed. For example, with the person in the foster home, Sussu is already very bold, often pushing legs, demanding scratches loudly, and often sleeping next to them during night and day naps. Mealtime is Sussu's favorite time, and he comes immediately when the bag rustles, looking to see what treat is available today. Sussu enjoys any food, but especially raw food has been a big delicacy for him. However, Sussu still needs to learn about handling, as for example during brushing and mealtime he easily shows his teeth. Therefore, Sussu is not suitable for a home with small children. It has also been noticed that in the transport box Sussu gets easily startled, which can result in loss of control. Once out of the box, Sussu is immediately again his calm self, behaving as if nothing had happened.

Suhina-Sussu / KOTIA ETSITÄÄN OULUN ALUEELTA Suhina-Sussu on noin 8 kuukauden ikäinen pentu, joka on nimestään huolimatta kolli eikä enää suhise – paitsi eläinlääkärireissuilla. Vaikka Sussu on edistynyt huimasti yhdistyksen sijaiskodissa asuessaan, uud

About Suhina-Sussu

What life with Suhina-Sussu looks like

Suhina-Sussu is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Popopet in Oulu.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

Frequently asked

Adopting Suhina-Sussu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Suhina-Sussu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Popopet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Suhina-Sussu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Suhina-Sussu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Popopet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Suhina-Sussu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Suhina-Sussu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Popopet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Suhina-Sussu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FI). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
