adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Suki has found her forever home! Her story: Found with full of ticks and fleas, Suki was discovered near Draculas Castle. Not only does it sound scary, but it was also true. Completely on her own, the 11-month-old female dog had to fight for survival in the wild for nine months. Now she is under the care of an animal rescuer and will be ready to travel by the end of October. We don't know much about Suki's past, but we can only imagine what her last nine months must have been like. We also don't know the story behind her shortened tail. However, we do know that Suki is a lively little female dog who is friendly towards people and fellow animals. With her black-and-white spotted fur and mischievous gaze, she has a charm that draws you in. Suki is like all our shelter dogs, looking for people who won't have too many expectations of her. She probably has lived on the streets from the beginning of her life and doesn't know what life in a house or apartment looks like. That's why she needs people who can show her patiently and lovingly everything that belongs to her new life. With her nine months old, the puppyhood is almost over and the puberty phase is not far away. During this time, it requires a lot of loving consistency, patience, and a large portion of humor. Calmness and relaxation must also be taught to the lively female dog. Like all young dogs, she wants to discover the world and is looking forward to all the things she will learn in her new home. A visit to a positively working dog training class can always be helpful. It's important to find professional dog trainers who she trusts and who can work well with you and your dog. If you have contacts you trust, you can also seek help during phases when things don't go according to plan. Always trust your gut feeling, and with time, you will grow into a good human-dog team. Suki is playful and approaches people and fellow animals openly. She is very attentive and loving. She also plays bravely with much larger dogs and remains friendly throughout. With her open nature, she can only inspire. Who would like to give this amazing female dog a home? Suki is vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for fleas. She is not yet neutered according to her age. She will be spayed after a positive Danke an die Namenspatin Pia. You have given Suki a name and thus her identity. As of: 26.11.

Stand: 26.11.2024

About Suki

What life with Suki looks like

Suki is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Suki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Suki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Suki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Suki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Suki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Suki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Suki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
