Suklaa

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Suklaa has found a home! Her story: In July 2023, Suklaa was allowed to move into a loving home. Unfortunately, the family's circumstances have changed, so she is now searching for a new family that will give her a new home. At first, Suklaa was timid and fearful, but she has clearly improved. She is now very open and curious, and she enjoys exploring. She loves all other dogs and also cats and gets along well with them. She is very social and very trusting. Toward people she knows well, she is very attached, but she is cautious toward strangers. Suklaa enjoys being outside with her people and exploring the world. On the leash, she walks nicely once she has had enough exercise and taken care of her business. In free run, she likes to orient herself to her people and doesn't stray far, but she listens to the recall. When distracted, for example, by other dogs, she needs a bit longer to refocus. She also runs well beside a bicycle, which she especially enjoys. And she is now very delicate and gentle when it comes to eating treats – even a child can give her some. She also handles car rides well, though she can get carsick on longer trips. Suklaa is a German Shepherd-Mix, intelligent with a lot of energy, and must also be adequately exercised. She is friendly and cuddly, and she loves to play and snuggle. Suklaa deserves to be raised with love, consistency, and positive reinforcement. A positively trained dog class would be a great way for Suklaa and her new family to support each other. We are looking for a loving family for Suklaa that will give her all the time she needs to handle such a big change well again. The wonderful Suklaa is dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and flea-treated. Suklaa has an EU pet passport and is adopted for an adoption fee of 500 Euros. Many thanks Dina! Thanks to you, Suklaa has her special name! Date: 01.02.

Vielen Dank Dina! Dank dir hat Suklaa ihren besonderen Namen bekommen! Stand: 01.02.2025

About Suklaa

What life with Suklaa looks like

Suklaa is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Suklaa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Suklaa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Suklaa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Suklaa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Suklaa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Suklaa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Suklaa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
