Of we hem konden redden. Of we nog een plaatsje voor hem hadden. Een jonge Shiba Inu die ze niet verkocht kregen en die niets kende behalve de beperkte wereld waarin hij was opgegroeid. We wilden hem een kans geven en zo kwam Sully bij ons terecht. Het is een prachtig hondje om te zien, maar achter dat mooie uiterlijk schuilt een bang en onzeker kereltje. In een hok leer je natuurlijk niets over het echte leven. Bij Sully was dat vanaf het eerste moment pijnlijk duidelijk. In het begin maakten we ons veel zorgen om hem, want zijn angst zit diep. Ondertussen wordt er iedere dag met hem gewerkt. Hij krijgt aandacht, knuffels en leert stapje voor stapje dat niet iedere hand iets slechts betekent. Maar Sully heeft nog een lange weg te gaan. Voor hem zoeken we dan ook geen doorsnee thuis. Hij heeft een rustig en geduldig baasje nodig dat niets van hem forceert en hem alle tijd geeft om op zijn eigen tempo open te bloeien. Een veilig afgesloten tuin en een stabiele, sociale hond zijn voor Sully absoluut noodzakelijk. Zo'n hondenvriendje kan hem helpen om meer vertrouwen te krijgen. Sully is geen kant-en-klaar hondje, en hij moet nog heel veel leren. Wie heeft de rust, het geduld en vooral het grote hart om Sully de kans te geven die hij nooit eerder kreeg?
