Adopt Sunday

Female · Young · 1 year

over: 🍀 Hi, may I introduce myself? My name is Sunday and I am now looking for my forever home for the second time. The first time I came to the animal shelter, I was still very small, together with my six siblings and our mother. Then, when I was old enough, I found a new home. My partner has unfortunately passed away, and I was returned to the animal shelter. That's why I am now looking for my true forever home. With my approximate weight of 3.4 kg, I am quite large and need a well-secured enclosure where I can run around. Of course, I would like a loving partner by my side or a group where I can be integrated. I generally get along well with other rabbits, but I have become very unsure around people. Therefore, it is important to give me plenty of time and not to pressure me to regain my trust. Your Sunday, do you think we would be a good match? Then please send an email and include some information about yourselves and your housing conditions. It would be great if you could also send some pictures.

About Sunday

What life with Sunday looks like

Sunday is a small young adult rabbit waiting at Tierheim Stuttgart in Stuttgart.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sunday, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sunday?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Stuttgart handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sunday on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sunday if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Stuttgart will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sunday already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sunday isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Stuttgart early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sunday and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
