Sunny

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Neutered/Spayed? Will be spayed in November – costs covered We had the pleasure of meeting this lovely little girl today, and she really is a sweetheart. Sunny is 2 years old (turning 3 in May) and is now looking for a wonderful new home where she can enjoy a happy and fulfilling life. ❤️ Sunny is vaccinated and microchipped , and her adoption includes a spay when the appropriate time comes. She is just finishing a season, and after speaking with the vets, November is the earliest recommended time for her spay . 🐾 About Sunny: ❤️ Super friendly and affectionate with people ❤️ Has lived with a young child since she was a puppy ❤️ Can live with or without other dogs ❤️ Could live with dog-savvy children , as she is an energetic girl ❤️ Housetrained ❤️ Sleeps happily on her own bed in the kitchen ❤️ Can settle when left alone ❤️ Has some basic training and currently has a recall with her owner ❤️ Will need continued training, consistency and relationship-building with her new family Sunny does have some typical prey drive and will give chase to cats, birds and chickens, so her new home will need to take this into consideration. She has been taught the basics, but like any young dog, she will benefit from her new family continuing to build on these skills and helping her become confident and reliable in different situations. 🐾 Sunny's owners are working and will soon be moving overseas. They feel that, because of their circumstances, Sunny deserves the opportunity to have a more fulfilling life with a family who can give her the time, companionship and continued training she needs. ❤️ Adoption fee: £510 (including microchip registration)

About Sunny

What life with Sunny looks like

Sunny is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Doggy Dens UK Rescue in United Kingdom.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sunny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sunny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Doggy Dens UK Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sunny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sunny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Doggy Dens UK Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Sunny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sunny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Doggy Dens UK Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sunny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
