Reggie

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Male · Young · 1 year

Reggie is a bright, energetic and lovable boy who is looking for a special home where he can continue to learn, grow and thrive. Reggie can be slightly nervous in new situations, particularly when he is unsure of what is expected of him. He will benefit from a calm, patient owner who can give him time to build confidence and feel secure. Once he gets to know you, he has lots of love and personality to give. He is a high-energy dog with plenty of enthusiasm for life. He loves being active and would suit an owner who enjoys getting out and about and can give him the exercise, enrichment and attention he needs. Reggie is still learning his manners and would really benefit from an adopter who is committed to ongoing training and socialisation. He can become over-excited, so helping him learn to focus, settle and respond appropriately in different situations will be an important part of his journey. With the right guidance, patience and consistency, Reggie has the potential to make a fantastic companion. He needs someone who understands that training takes time and is willing to work with him at his pace, using positive and reward-based methods. Reggie's ideal home: - Active owners - Family who are able to offer time and effort doing consistent positive reinforcement training and socialisation. - He can live with children 8+ - Plenty of mental stimulation as well as physical exercise - Someone experienced or confident with energetic dogs - Needs a secure and private garden with 6ft fencing. - Can't live with cats.

About Reggie

What life with Reggie looks like

Reggie is a young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at RSPCA Coventry and District Branch in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Reggie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Reggie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Coventry and District Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Reggie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Reggie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Coventry and District Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Reggie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Reggie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Coventry and District Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Reggie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
