Sunny

Female · Young · 3 years

This lovely little one has been staying at the animal shelter recently! Due to her cheerful personality, the female dog was given the name Sunny by us. We are still getting to know her, and what do we know so far? Sunny is a young, approximately 3-year-old happy girl who is very eager for human contact. As soon as we appear in her crate, she jumps on our heads (literally and figuratively)! Walks with Sunny are pure chaos! The young one is everywhere (and you can hear her everywhere). She is literally full of energy. The female dog easily gets very excited and then needs to be calmed down skillfully. Unfortunately, Sunny can be dominant towards other dogs - we have already witnessed several scenes of jealousy performed by her. For now, we think she should be the only pet in a new home. She would also not cope in a house with young children (under 10 years old). So what - fall in love! We also invite you to our volunteer group's social media, where you will find stories about the lives of our charges at the animal shelter, information about adoptions, greetings from homes, educational posts and much more! Taki uroczy maluch zagościł ostatnio w Schronisku! Spacery z Sunny to istne szaleństwo! About Sunny

What life with Sunny looks like

Sunny is a small young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Gets emotionally overstimulated easily and needs calming techniques. Shows jealousy towards other dogs.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sunny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sunny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sunny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sunny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sunny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sunny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sunny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
