Susi

Mixed Breed · Unknown

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Susi has already found her luck! Her story: Susi, a small Bichon-Mix-lady, who immediately felt at home when rehomed: "Just take me in your arms." We don't know how her start in life looked like – she was found by animal rescuer Meda in Bistrița, where she is now finally in safety and waiting for her people to discover her. Susi is about one year old and thus at the transition from puppy to adult female dog. In the foster home, she shows herself as incredibly loving, people-oriented, soft-natured, and friendly to other dogs. She wants to please, seeks connection, and quickly orientates herself to familiar persons. At the same time, much is still new for her, so she can be a little cautious at first – but always friendly, always curious, and always eager to understand what is expected of her. Since she cannot reveal her past, we must assume that Susi has not yet experienced much of life in a family. This means: She must learn or relearn the small dog basics – house training, leash walking, calm alone time, everyday situations, sounds, routines. With patience and positive training classes, she will however quickly make progress, because Susi is attentive, sensitive, and very eager to learn. Her delicate nature makes her a special companion that seeks a home where she is handled with love, clarity, and patience. People who enjoy gently leading her into new situations and giving her security will be rewarded with a loyal, cheerful little female dog that quickly develops a close bond. Susi gets along well with other dogs – she lives problemlessly in the dog group in the foster home. Cats have not been tested, but due to her size and character, a slow, gentle acclimation could work. Susi is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She brings her EU pet passport and is allowed to enter after a positive. A heartfelt thank you goes to Corinna, who gave Susi her name and thus a piece of hope and identity. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About Susi

What life with Susi looks like

Susi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Susi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Susi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Susi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Susi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Susi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Susi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Susi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
