Sympathische Mila

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Sympathische Mila wishes for a perfect family match at a foster home in 26629 Großefehn. Mila has been waiting eagerly for several years for her happy ending. Unfortunately, she is often overlooked, perhaps because she does not greet strangers with joy but instead gives them a cautious once-over and barks. But whoever wins Mila's heart gets to see the sympathetic, cuddly, and temperamental treasure she is on the inside. Mila is a true little troublemaker. She likes to argue a lot when she doesn't want something. Then it's not about giving in but standing your ground. Because then Mila finally gives in and grumbles while doing what she is asked. In some way, she does this so uniquely that it often makes one smile. Walking on a leash is no problem for Mila. She is super leash-friendly, walks right at your side, behaves calmly in dog encounters, and is quite recallable. While she is watchful outside, she is quiet and unobtrusive inside and can also stay alone well. She loves being with her people and snuggles for hours. As you might have noticed in the pictures, Mila's head is slightly tilted. This is due to a neurological head tilt, but we have managed to get it under control with exercises. It's not completely gone, but it doesn't hinder her from an active life. For Mila, we are looking for dog-experienced people who can give her plenty of time to build trust, take her stubbornness with a sense of humor, and lead her with love and consistency. Are you perhaps exactly the person for Mila's happy ending? For inquiries, feel free to contact us at the number (only WhatsApp). Gets along with other dogs. Gets along with other cats. Walks well on a leash.

About Sympathische Mila

What life with Sympathische Mila looks like

Sympathische Mila is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Free Dogs - Vergessene Tiere in Not e.V. in Großefehn.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sympathische Mila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sympathische Mila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Free Dogs - Vergessene Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sympathische Mila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sympathische Mila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Free Dogs - Vergessene Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sympathische Mila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sympathische Mila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Free Dogs - Vergessene Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sympathische Mila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
