Szczypior

Mixed Breed · Male

He's a beautiful dog with a delicate build who is full of positive energy. When he arrived at the shelter, he was very scared and tried to intimidate people with his teeth, but that stage is completely behind him now. Although he still gets uncertain sometimes, today he actively seeks human contact and enjoys going for walks. He walks nicely on a leash, although sometimes he pulls when something particularly catches his attention. He doesn't like intense touch around the neck, but he allows himself to be leashed without any problems. Szczypior doesn't get along with other dogs, so he will do best as an only dog. Both on the runway and increasingly during walks, he beautifully focuses his attention on his caregiver and is happy to work with him. We are looking for a conscious, patient caregiver who understands his initial uncertainty towards new people and respects the need to maintain their own space. Szczypior himself likes to seek affection, but doesn't like too intense stroking, especially around the neck. When something makes him uncomfortable, he simply backs away - he never seeks conflict. He is a sensitive dog who will surely repay trust and devotion with the right person.

PL·Show original

About Szczypior

What life with Szczypior looks like

Szczypior is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Czekadełko in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Szczypior, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Szczypior?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Czekadełko handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Szczypior on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Szczypior if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Czekadełko will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Szczypior already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Szczypior isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Czekadełko early rather than rehoming privately; they know Szczypior and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
