Szogun

Male · Young · 2 years

They say eyes are the mirror of the soul. The gaze of Szogun hides power, vitality and youthful joy. He is still a puppy, who instead of spending a carefree youth, is looking for his people from behind the bars of the crate. We don't know where he appeared with us, but one thing is certain - Szogun has a hundred ideas a minute and each one he carefully realizes. It is impossible to hide, that Szogun is the ideal companion for long walks. During walks, he mainly sniffs and explores the terrain. He is very interested in passing dogs, but he does not have bad intentions towards them. Szogun clearly communicates when he doesn't want to meet. Szogun is sensitive to external stimuli. He quickly gets into high emotions and wanting to release them, he runs to hands and legs and gently bites. We suspect that the prolonged stay in the animal shelter affects his well-being and he is overstimulated. His future caregiver should be firm and clearly set boundaries to show Szogun the rules of functioning. Szogun learns very quickly and will understand the rules in the new home in no time. Szogun looks for support in the person during difficult situations and clearly shows when he needs it. Szogun is confident in direct contacts with other dogs. He sticks to the dogs and enters their space too much, however, with the duration of the joint walk, he can nicely walk parallelly. Probably the previous owner (if there was one) did not teach Szogun proper communication. The future caregiver should make up for these shortcomings, for example, through regular socialization walks. This resolute dog's soul is looking for his person, good or bad! We are looking for a home for Szogun, which will provide him with long, engaging walks, and which will be ready to raise a young dog. Future caregivers should also provide mental activities to use Szogun's learning potential. We prefer that Szogun lives without children and other animals in a quiet neighborhood or outside the city, where there will not be an excess of stimuli. Szogun is a good candidate for the first dog, provided that the future caregiver will be consistent, but also will have an open mind for learning and various solutions. For a young dog, every day in the animal shelter is a lost day. We dream that Szogun finally experiences peace and can start living a full life.

Mówią, że oczy są zwierciadłem duszy. Spojrzenie Szoguna skrywają moc, witalność i młodzieńczą radość z życia. Szogun szuka wzrokiem wsparcia w człowieku w trudnych sytuacjach i wyraźnie pokazuje kiedy go potrzebuje. Marzymy, aby Szogun wreszcie zaznał spokoju i mógł zacząć żyć pełnią życia. About Szogun

What life with Szogun looks like

Szogun is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Overstimulated from shelter life, needs consistent boundaries and mental stimulation

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Szogun, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Szogun?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Szogun on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Szogun if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Szogun already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Szogun isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Szogun and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
