TAFF

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 8 years

TAFF (M) 8 years old - for adoption via BorderLineCollie Characteristics Date of birth: 7/12/2015 Gender: Male Registered with LOF/LOSH/ISDS: No Disabilities: No Child compatibility: yes, but only with children who are teenagers Child compatibility: must be assessed Dog compatibility: fixed to keep cats inside Other compatibility: unknown Character Taff is described by the owner as a Border Collie who listens well and is very kind. He loves brain games and tug-of-war games. Taff is very disturbed by loud noises coming from the nearby military shooting range. These noises cause him a lot of anxiety and stress, which has resulted in several biting incidents. As the owner noticed that Taff would be much better off in a low-stimulation environment, she asked BorderLineCollie to find him a more suitable home. History Taff came to live with his owner at the age of 8 weeks. During the corona period, Taff became very agitated because everyone had to stay home all the time. Taff cannot handle loud noises and when he is stressed, he barks for no reason or chases flies. This buildup of tension over time caused him to bite as a reaction of surprise or fear. He is used to being in a crate, can be left alone at home for several hours and does not fixate on traffic. In the past, Taff practiced agility and frisbee as sports. Now, he loves walking in the woods.

About TAFF

What life with TAFF looks like

TAFF is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Border Line Collie in borderlinecollie.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting TAFF, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TAFF?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Border Line Collie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TAFF on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TAFF if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Border Line Collie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TAFF already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TAFF isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Border Line Collie early rather than rehoming privately; they know TAFF and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
