Tay (Тай)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Kyiv and Kyiv region! Looking for a family! Tai was first brought to the animal shelter for treatment. Then he was brought in again, and again, and again... It's hard to say how often he came to us to improve his condition. Skin rashes, hair loss, constant discomfort. After successful treatment and returning to his place of residence, the problem would come back after some time. Atopic dermatitis. Probably it's no secret that surviving on the street is not an easy task for a dog, even if it lives near a café where people take care of it, feed it well, and treat it for parasites. But a dog that looks, to put it mildly, unattractive, immediately causes disgust among passersby, and then its life becomes even more uncomfortable. After another "visit" for treatment, we decided to leave him at the animal shelter and give him a chance for rehoming in a family. Pros: Tai is very gentle, friendly, cheerful, playful dog. He loves people, adores walking, and is sociable. Cons: requires monitoring of his condition and selection of individual feeding. Due to an undetermined cause of dermatitis, he ended up in the special category. We are looking for a loving family or guardian to help with his care and support his health. Estimated date of birth May 22, 2020. Vaccinated, microchipped, has a veterinary passport. Medium size. Coat color is sandy.

About Tay (Тай)

What life with Tay (Тай) looks like

Tay (Тай) is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Happy Paw Kyiv Oblast in Ukraine.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tay (Тай), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tay (Тай)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Kyiv Oblast handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tay (Тай) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tay (Тай) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Kyiv Oblast will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tay (Тай) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tay (Тай) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Kyiv Oblast early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tay (Тай) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
