adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Tamika can move directly into your own home! Her story: Tamika was discovered by our animal rescuer Raluca by the roadside when she returned from a visit to the nearby village. This exact spot has seen abandoned dogs in the past – a sad reality. For Tamika, it was pure luck that she was found at the right time. Tamika is a brave, friendly, and simply charming little girl dog. With her sweet snout, beautifully marked fur, and her lively nature, she truly enchants everyone. She loves treats, she loves cuddles – and most of all, she loves being there. Despite her young age, Tamika already shows great balance. She’s not a hyper wild thing but a well-mannered puppy who seeks human company and goes through life happily and openly. She gets along well with other dogs; cats have not been tested yet. Since Tamika is still very young and will likely become a large female dog, we are looking for people who are ready to teach her everything important with love, patience, and consistency. Positive dog training classes would be a great support for her start in a new life – and also a wonderful opportunity to strengthen her bond with her new family. She still needs to learn the whole puppy ABC, and leash walking, house training, and being alone are still foreign words to her. Soon puberty will be upon her, and she will likely test boundaries and perhaps forget some things she has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Tamika will definitely make a great lifelong partner. We hope so much that she can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for her. Tamika is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can be fostered. We would also be very happy to have a foster home for the sweet mouse. Who will give her a loving forever home?

About Tamika

What life with Tamika looks like

Tamika is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tamika, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tamika?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tamika on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tamika if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tamika already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tamika isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tamika and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
