Adopt Honden ter adoptie

Romanian Street Dog · Female · Young · 2 years

This lovely girl is named Tammy. Tammy is a female dog. Her estimated birth date is October 2023. She will be about 50 cm in height. Tammy was found on the street in the village of Sisterea in Romania, near the animal shelter of Sos Dogs Romania. A few months ago, she was walking around with about 10 other dogs in the village. Since the village is close to our animal shelter and we know exactly which dogs are roaming there, we are certain that a larger group of dogs was dumped on the street. Probably hoping that the animal shelter would take them in. We had no choice, you can't let them roam. Especially not if they are not spayed or neutered. They are now, and they have already had all their shots. Considering that they are all nice and social dogs, we are looking for a good owner. Also for Tammy. Tammy is a kind and beautiful girl! She is shy and finds new things and situations exciting, but with love and patience she will gain more confidence. Tammy is calm by nature and loves a cuddle! She gets along well with other dogs, she enjoys playing with them. Walking on a leash was very exciting for her and she still needs training, but she first needs to gain more trust in people to proceed further. For Tammy we are looking for an owner who has at least another dog present, who can help Tammy learn to trust people. Owners who have a lot of calmness and patience to let Tammy get used to things. She is so incredibly sweet, it just takes a while before she feels safe. Tammy in the Netherlands. If you are interested in Tammy, please send us a message with your residence and work situation and any experience with dogs. After an intake conversation, if it turns out you are a match, an appointment can be made to pick her up at our small shelter in Didam. Tammy is The adoption fee is € 390. This is a contribution to the costs such as spaying/neutering, the trip to the Netherlands, European pet passport, chip and vaccinations. Dit mooie meisje heet Tammy. Tammy is een teefje. Haar geschatte geboortedatum is oktober 2023. Tammy in Nederland. About Honden ter adoptie

What life with Honden ter adoptie looks like

Honden ter adoptie is a medium-sized young adult romanian street dog dog waiting at SOS Dogs Nederland in NN Didam.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs another dog in household to help build confidence. Requires leash training and patient owners for socialization.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Honden ter adoptie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Honden ter adoptie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Dogs Nederland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Honden ter adoptie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Honden ter adoptie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Dogs Nederland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Honden ter adoptie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Honden ter adoptie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs Nederland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honden ter adoptie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
