Adopt Tao

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 9 years

Good, affectionate and dynamic People, children, cats Hello everyone... I am Tao and I am a wonderful playful cat born around May 2017. I was rescued together with my little sister by a kind man, who unfortunately was struck by a serious illness, and now can no longer take care of us... I ended up in a cage in a boarding kennel. It is urgent to find a home for me. I am a very sweet and affectionate kitten, with lots of energy to play together. I need a real opportunity, a safe home where I can grow peacefully and leave behind the instability I have experienced lately. I am looking for a responsible family, ready to welcome me and give me stability and love. I am in Varese, and I am looking for foster home in central or northern Italy. I am in good health, with vaccines and negative tests already carried out.

È urgente trovare per me uno stallo casalingo.

About Tao

What life with Tao looks like

Tao is a small adult european shorthair cat waiting at I Pelosetti di Silvana in Italy.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tao, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tao?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. I Pelosetti di Silvana handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tao on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tao if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — I Pelosetti di Silvana will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tao already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tao isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with I Pelosetti di Silvana early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tao and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
