adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this puppy! Small droopy ears and a scruffy forehead. With light beige fur and barely visible white spots – Taro brings it all at once. Found together with his mother Callia and his siblings in the middle of a field, far away from houses or civilization. Alone with her puppies, Callia tried to provide for them – with the last milk she had, even though her strength barely held out. It's all the more beautiful that the little family was found in time. Taro is about 2 months old and currently around 25–30 cm in size. As his mother measures about 47 cm, he is expected to grow into a medium-sized male dog. Already now, he carries a very special expression – attentive, gentle, and with this cautious look that immediately touches. At the moment, Taro is more reserved. He prefers to observe in peace before approaching. At the same time, one can clearly see his curiosity. Together with his siblings, he discovers more and more of his small world in the kennel each day. When visitors come, he often seeks the closeness of his mother or stays in the hut, watching attentively. He appears cautious but interested, as if he is carefully storing away every new impression. His character will surely continue to develop in the coming weeks as he gains more security. Currently, Taro is still too young for travel arrangements and must still grow up together with his mother and siblings. In July, he will be ready for his own home. Then, he will bring everything a young puppy brings: curiosity, enthusiasm, a need for cuddles – and of course, puppy-like mischief. Whoever takes Taro into their home should bring enough time, patience, and understanding. He must first learn what life in a home is like, which includes potty training, everyday noises, quiet phases, and everything that is second nature to us. Without his siblings and without his mother, he needs security, affection, love, and loving companionship. He is still not familiar with being alone and must learn step by step that he is safe and that someone always returns. Positive dog training classes can be a wonderful support and help in creating the foundations for a relaxed coexistence. A puppy means work, responsibility, patience, and sometimes sleepless nights, but it also means pure joy, happiness, and a lot of love. After a successful Also, a foster home would be a valuable chance for the Flauscheball! Many thanks to Jessy! You gave Taro its name! Date: 26.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Jessy! Du hast Taro seinen Namen geschenkt! About Taro

What life with Taro looks like

Taro is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Taro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Taro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Taro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Taro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Taro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Taro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Taro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
