Adopt Taro

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Size: small Final size travel arrangements starting in September Location: Romania ✨🐶 Taro – a shy puppy girl searching for love 💕 Taro and her siblings were discovered alone and abandoned – without protection, without anyone caring for them 💔🐾. Our animal rescuer did not hesitate, even though she was already at the limit of her capacities. She could not leave the little souls to their fate and took them in at once ❤️. Initially, the puppies were examined by a vet, vaccinated, and dewormed 🩺💉. Now they can finally rest, fall asleep full, and learn that people can also be good 🛏️✨. Taro shows herself to be a shy, gentle puppy girl who needs time to build trust 🥺🐕. Once she has this trust, she enjoys the company of people very much and opens up step by step 💕. But the greatest happiness is still missing: her own home 🏡💞. People with patience, empathy, and a big heart who can give Taro love, security, and safety and show her how beautiful life can be 🌈🐾. 👉 If you want to give Taro a home full of warmth and care, please contact us 📩❤️ Taro is on travel arrangements and is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, neutered, and has been checked by a vet. She is in possession of an EU pet passport. All our dogs travel with official trace papers and Paragraph 11 approval to Germany. Our dogs are additionally tested for Mediterranean diseases via a rapid test. The adoption fee is 500€ plus 30€ for the purchase of safety gear. Note: When we assign our dogs to certain breeds, we base this on the external appearance and observable behavior (phenotype). This assignment is made with the best of intentions and knowledge of the involved veterinarians. However, these descriptions do not necessarily correspond to the actual genetic makeup (genotype), as their reliable determination would only be possible through DNA analysis. Furthermore, the behavioral and character description of the individual animal is based on careful observations by the animal welfare workers on site or by the respective foster facilities. It should be noted that these assessments are based solely on the current local conditions in the intake or foster facilities.

About Taro

What life with Taro looks like

Taro is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Rescued Souls e.V. in Pfinztal.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Taro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Taro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rescued Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Taro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Taro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rescued Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Taro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Taro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rescued Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Taro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
