Teddy Direktvermittlung

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

TEDDY IS LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME For our 5-year-old, neutered mixed breed dog Teddy (Border Collie and Labrador, among others), we are reluctantly looking for a new home. He comes from an unplanned litter within the family and has been with us since puppyhood. In daily life, Teddy is usually friendly and well socialized. He is sensitive, curious, and a loyal companion who strongly relies on his attachment figures and learns quickly. He enjoys being outdoors, loves water and snow, plays well, and is more of a sprinter than a long-distance runner. Traveling by car and being alone are no problem. Dog encounters are mostly relaxed; however, he can go forward with similarly impulsive dogs. He is occasionally jumpy (e.g., with wind or loud noises) and is unsettled by unfamiliar or small children (barking, nervousness). He behaves kindly towards our own toddler. Teddy knows all basic commands and shows no hunting behavior - only occasionally reacts to squirrels. In certain situations, he feels stressed quickly. Over the past two years, there have been two biting incidents involving adults. In each case, he snapped once with inhibition. The triggers were moments in which he apparently felt pressured (once in connection with a chew toy, once in a close approach situation), after which he reacted accordingly. Our dog trainer also sees Teddy as a friendly dog and loyal companion who only needs support/management in certain situations. For Teddy, we are looking for a quiet, stable home with experienced dog owners without children and without frequent changes. A home with a garden and preferably a natural environment would be ideal, as this is what he is used to. A second dog is only possible with a calm, confident dog (preferably female). His new owners should be willing to continue working with Teddy and provide him with security through clear leadership. Teddy is healthy, vaccinated, microchipped, and regularly dewormed. It is extremely difficult for us to give him up, but we are doing it out of responsibility, as our current environment with a young child no longer meets his needs and necessary safety. Further information as well as an exchange with our trainer are always possible. Contact: or zuhause-fuer-teddy(at)posteo(dot)de

TEDDY SUCHT EIN NEUES ZUHAUSE Für unseren 5-jährigen, kastrierten Mischlingsrüden Teddy (u. a. Kontaktaufnahme: oder zuhause-fuer-teddy(at)posteo(dot)de

About Teddy Direktvermittlung

What life with Teddy Direktvermittlung looks like

Teddy Direktvermittlung is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Plattling in Plattling.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teddy Direktvermittlung, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teddy Direktvermittlung?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Plattling handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teddy Direktvermittlung on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teddy Direktvermittlung if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Plattling will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Teddy Direktvermittlung already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teddy Direktvermittlung isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Plattling early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teddy Direktvermittlung and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
