Teddy

Male Β· Young Β· 1 year

Meet Teddy! This handsome chap would spend all day gazing up at you if he could! He is finding the cattery life a little overwhelming and can be shy to begin with, but we have made friends by offering some super tasty chicken treats which he adores! Once he knows you, he is a real purr machine that will head bump your hand for cheek rubs and will flop on his side against your leg, making his biscuits to show his content. He has started climbing up onto our laps so has the potential to be a lap cat. Teddy is looking for a calm, quiet home as he does have a sensitive side, so he could live with an older school age child that will give him some time and space before he is ready to make friends. He will need a room of his own to settle into his new home at first so he can grow in confidence in his own time before exploring the whole house. Teddy will need direct access to his own private garden, so once he has settled into his home, he can take his time building up his confidence outside. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Teddy, you can e-mail our rehoming team on on to register your interest. e cat you have contacted us about.

About Teddy

What life with Teddy looks like

Teddy is a medium-sized young adult cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Teddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
