Adopt Teddy

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Meet Teddy – A Bouncy Boy with a Heart of Gold 🐾 Teddy is a handsome Fox red Labrador with the sweetest nature and a resilience that’s impossible not to admire. He hasn’t had the easiest start in life—arriving into our care very underweight and with a sore eye—but through it all, he’s remained an incredibly loving and trusting boy. Now that he’s feeling much brighter, Teddy’s true personality is shining through. He’s full of energy, enthusiasm, and that classic Labrador zest for life! He’s a bouncy, excitable lad who greets each day (and every person he meets) with pure joy. Teddy is still very much a puppy at heart, so he’ll need a home that’s ready to put in the time and patience for all aspects of training. With the right guidance—and maybe a few tasty treats along the way—he has all the potential to grow into a wonderfully well-rounded companion. He would thrive in an active home that can match his energy and help him channel it in the right way, while also giving him the love and stability he’s been missing. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate dog who will keep you smiling every day, Teddy could be your perfect match

About Teddy

What life with Teddy looks like

Teddy is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Teddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Teddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
