adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Teddy has found a home! His story: Cluj, Romania. Teddy, Camillo, Meeko, Millie, and Pico – the suitcases are packed! Who can resist falling in love with these adorable little faces? Currently, five siblings are waiting in a private animal shelter in Romania to travel to Germany and hopefully be forever adopted into a loving and caring family. Teddy will likely remain small. He is open, cheerful, and excited about any kind of affection. In some situations, he can be unsure, but he gains confidence and courage every day. Essentially, he is a curious puppy. He is friendly and outgoing, loves the people on site, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. In a few months, Teddy will then enter puberty. This is an important life phase for every dog, during which the foundations for the future are set. Learning is quickly forgotten, and many rules are reevaluated. But we are sure that the clever Teddy will emerge from this phase with self-confidence through loving and consistent training, becoming a great companion for his people. We wish for the sweet puppy a loving and sensitive adopter who gives him enough time and space to settle into the new living situation at his own pace. After the adjustment period, it is certainly advisable to enroll Teddy in positive training classes, as shared training will strengthen his self-confidence and the bond with people. The little man is then microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, and treated for fleas. In his suitcase, he packs his EU Companion Animal Identification Card. Do you want to be the person who shows the little Teddy what a good dog life looks like? Many thanks to Mandy! You have given Teddy his name!

Vielen Dank Mandy! Du hast Teddy seinen Namen geschenkt!

About Teddy

What life with Teddy looks like

Teddy is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Teddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
