Adopt Teddy S

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Born around July 2021, Gender: male, neutered: yes, Character: reserved, needs some time but very friendly and curious, gets along with fellow animals, Size: approx. 50 cm, In shelter since: September 2021, Relatives: siblings Judie, Paloma, Felix, Nanook, Maxi Hello dear people! I am Teddy – a sensitive, reserved, and friendly little fellow who would like to please you humans, but still doesn’t quite know how to best make contact. But let’s just say between us: exactly such dogs make the best life partners. Not the thoughtless Rambo types, but the slightly softer souls that form a closer bond with their own people. Briefly about my past: I came to this shelter in 2021, together with my very friendly sibling group, consisting of 4 boys and 2 girls. Unfortunately, we had a sad start to our lives, because when we were still small, we were abandoned and left alone. Without a mother, without food, without water. We probably wouldn’t have survived without outside help. But fortunately, fate had good intentions for us, as loving people saved us and took care of us. So we got to grow up in a safe environment as wonderful little puppies. Now, however, we have grown up and are ready to take our own paths and discover the big, wide world. My two sisters have already made the first steps and found their forever families in Germany. What we brothers still lack is, of course, our own human family. I am sure that I will hold my family very, very close to my heart and be the best friend they could wish for. The sooner, the better. I, for one, am ready for a new chapter in my life. Since I know nothing but life in the shelter, only very patient people should apply, because there will certainly be a lot of new and unknown things waiting for me. To be able to process all these foreign – and perhaps scary for me – impressions, I need time. And people by my side who don’t give up right away if it doesn’t work out as they wish. Now I look forward to the future and hope that I can pack my bags soon! If you are interested in Teddy, please fill out our application form () or write us an email or a message on Facebook. Teddy is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months of age, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. Ramona H. has taken on the sponsorship for Teddy and thus ensures a full food bowl. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!. Gets along with other dogs.

About Teddy S

What life with Teddy S looks like

Teddy S is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teddy S, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teddy S?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teddy S on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teddy S if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Teddy S already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teddy S isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teddy S and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
