The Berkshire Girls

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

We recently helped The RSPCA with a multi-cat household situation. We took in nine kittens to try and bring the numbers down within the property. They are settling into cattery life. Here we have a mixed bunch: some confident kitties and some nervous ones, but one by one they are starting to show their little personalities. As with most large multi-cat rescues, you will always see a range of personalities, but when you split them up into singles or pairs, that's when you see their confidence really grow. If you can give any of these stunners their forever home. Then please click on the Apply Now button. This is the one thing you won't regret doing and could be the best decision you've ever made. The youngest is 3 months old, and the eldest is 1 year old. They can live with children age 10+ They can with confident young cats They can live with cat-savvy dogs

About The Berkshire Girls

What life with The Berkshire Girls looks like

The Berkshire Girls is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting The Berkshire Girls, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about The Berkshire Girls?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw The Berkshire Girls on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt The Berkshire Girls if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is The Berkshire Girls already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if The Berkshire Girls isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know The Berkshire Girls and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
