Theo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 3 months

Theo is a friendly and playful little male dog who loves human company. He is curious, lively, and typical of a puppy. He seems to accept new situations openly, and his caregivers assume he will adjust well to his new environment. Theo also gets along well with other dogs and is already compatible with cats. Theo is currently about 3 months old, about 27 cm tall, and weighs around 5 kg. He is the smallest of his litter, but has strong legs. He will probably reach a small to medium size when fully grown, although this cannot be reliably predicted yet. Theo was found and rescued by our animal rights activist Sonia, along with his three siblings Tammy, Levin, and Tira, who were abandoned and left to fend for themselves. The four little dogs are now safe in our private shelter, and we hope that their lives will soon take a new direction: out of the shelter and into a loving home. Of course, Theo is still at the beginning of his life. Like every puppy, he must first learn the ABC of dog behavior. Housebreaking, leash training, staying alone, rest phases, and the many small rules of family life are things he must learn step by step. His future owners should therefore have the time, patience, and joy of accompanying a young dog as he grows up. Attending a positive dog school would be a good way to learn together and create a good basis for living together from the start. We wish for people who consciously embark on the adventure of being a puppy owner. People who show him the world, give him security and orientation, and at the same time understand that a small dog is not only cute, but also responsibility, time, and upbringing. In return, you can experience how a curious puppy gradually becomes a wonderful companion for life. Theo already has many of the qualities he needs: he is people-oriented, friendly, playful, and social. He knows how to interact with other dogs and cats. Now he just needs a family where he can grow up protected and develop his own personality. Theo can be chipped, dewormed, and de-fleaed and travel with his own EU pet passport. He is not yet castrated in accordance with his age. Theo will be subject to a positive pre-control and will be placed for a deposit. A loving foster home would also be a great opportunity for the little dog not to have to spend his childhood in a shelter. Who would like to show this little sunshine the world and accompany him on his way through life? Thank you Nicole R.! You gave Theo his sweet name! Status: 29.09.2026 Further information on pre-control and deposit.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Nicole R.! Du hast Theo seinen süßen Namen geschenkt! About Theo

What life with Theo looks like

Theo is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Theo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Theo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Theo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Theo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Theo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Theo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Theo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
