Theo

Pointer · Male · Young · 3 years

Theo Rasse: Pointer Mix Age: born 03.02.2023 Size: approx. 50 cm Weight: approx. 20 kg Neutered: Yes other dogs? Yes children? Does he know cats? Must be tested Mediterranean test? Negative! An up-to-date test will be made before departure. Location: Shelter (K) Theo is looking for his forever home 🐾 Theo is a typical Pointer mix: cheerful, people-oriented and full of energy. The young male was found abandoned at a dog park and is now waiting to finally find a home where he will be loved and appreciated. Theo loves human contact above all else. He is very affectionate, seeks closeness and enjoys every caress. At the same time, the typical joie de vivre of a young Pointer is in him: he is active, curious and enjoys moving and discovering the world. After long walks, shared activities or small adventures, Theo shows his cuddly side and would love to be very close to his people. He gets along very well with other dogs and shows himself to be uncomplicated and friendly in everyday life. We wish for Theo an active family that enjoys physically and mentally exhausting him and at the same time gives him a lot of love and security. A home where he can belong and go through life with his people. Theo is a great young dog with a big heart - who will give this affectionate and cheerful Pointer mix the chance at a happy dog life? ❤️ Before the journey to the new home, X-rays will be taken on request, for a fee, to ensure that all joints are in order. The fee is determined by the number of X-rays. More dogs and our application form can be found on our homepage under

About Theo

What life with Theo looks like

Theo is a large young adult pointer dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Theo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Theo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Theo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Theo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Theo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Theo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Theo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
