Theo und Quentinn

Male

Theo and Quentinn are two inseparable brothers who found their way to our animal shelter together as found rabbits. Upon their arrival, the two neutered bucks were severely underweight. Therefore, we had to slowly and carefully adjust their diet. They have now recovered wonderfully and are doing really well. The two are just incredibly sweet with each other and give each other support. Together, Theo and Quentinn have already endured so much, which is why it is all the more important that they continue to go through life side by side. A separation is therefore not an option for us. Theo and Quentinn will only be placed in a loving home together. If you are interested in the two, please contact us with photos and measurements of the enclosure in which they should live.

DE·Show original

About Theo und Quentinn

What life with Theo und Quentinn looks like

Theo und Quentinn is a adult bird waiting at Tierheim Elmshorn in Elmshorn.

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Theo und Quentinn, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Theo und Quentinn?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Elmshorn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Theo und Quentinn on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Theo und Quentinn if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Elmshorn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Theo und Quentinn already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most birds on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Theo und Quentinn isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Elmshorn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Theo und Quentinn and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
