Theresa

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Theresa - Mix puppy seeks her family for life Theresa is one of the twelve puppies of Nymeria and grew up with her mom and her siblings Maggie, Kemi, Liz, Gordon, Cameron and the six other puppies in the Spanish animal shelter. Now she is ready for the next big step: finding her own family. Theresa is still a young puppy and will probably belong to the larger dogs. Since her father is unknown, we cannot predict her later size exactly. Like every puppy, Theresa still needs to learn everything that is important for a harmonious coexistence. Housebreaking, leash training, recall, staying alone and the many small rules of everyday life need to be built up step by step. One should never forget: A puppy is only small and sweet for a short part of his life. Theresa will become an adult dog with her own needs and corresponding space, movement and activity needs. Her adoption is therefore a decision for many years together and a great responsibility. Whoever gives Theresa this chance should be happy to accompany her as she grows up, give her orientation and discover the world with her. With patience and loving consistency, she can become a wonderful companion for life. Here's the link to Theresa's video Here's the link to the video of the gang

About Theresa

What life with Theresa looks like

Theresa is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Theresa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Theresa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Theresa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Theresa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Theresa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Theresa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Theresa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
