Thor, born approximately 2017, neutered, approximately 55 cm shoulder height, in the shelter since 2022. Thor comes from the public Bals animal shelter, which does not kill, but from which we often receive dogs in a pitifully emaciated condition. Fortunately, despite his presumably negative experiences, he is still friendly to people and forms a close bond in a typical shepherd dog manner. Our volunteer Julia dedicates some time to him during each of her visits, and accordingly, Thor is very happy when he receives attention from her. He is initially uncertain when meeting strangers, but quickly warms up. Unfortunately, he is becoming increasingly stressed by the noise and unrest in the shelter. He urgently needs a quiet home far from the stress. Thor needs guidance from his reference person(s) despite his generally nice nature, because he snaps when he feels cornered, so he should move in with experienced shepherd dog people. We wish for a home for Thor with empathetic and experienced people who will show him what a good dog life is in peace and without time pressure or expectations. It should be okay if he never wants to go for a walk or cuddle like a normal dog. Maybe he will be good for one or more positive surprises. A securely fenced garden with direct access to the house is a basic requirement. Since Thor has only poor placement chances, we would be very happy if someone would take on a sponsorship for him. Located in Romania and allowed to leave if a home is found. Travels chipped and vaccinated (EU vaccination passport; vaccinations: rabies and basic immunization). All dogs are treated against intestinal parasites and ectoparasites at their arrival in the shelter and at least once a year thereafter. The described behavioral observations are based on everyday life in the shelter and may be different in a domestic environment under changed living conditions. 06/2025 Futterpatenschaft: - Tierarztpatenschaft: - Thor, geboren ca. 2017, kastriert, ca. 55 cm Schulterhöhe, im Shelter seit 2022 Thor kommt aus dem öffentlichen Tierheim Bals, welches zwar nicht tötet, von dem wir aber sehr oft Hunde bekommen, die in einem erbärmlich abgemagerten Zustand sind. Glücklicherweise ist er trotz seiner vermutlich negativen Erfahrungen Menschen nach wie vor zugewandt und bindet sich schäferhundtypisch eng. Unsere Volontärin Julia widmet ihm bei jedem ihrer Besuche etwas Zeit und dementsprechend freut Thor sich sehr, wenn er Aufmerksamkeit von ihr bekommt. Fremden Menschen begegnet er zunächst unsicher, taut aber schnell auf. Leider wird er immer gestresster durch den Lärm und die Unruhe im Shelter. Er braucht dringend ein ruhiges Zuhause fernab vom Stress. Thor braucht trotz seiner grundsätzlich netten Art die Anleitung seiner Bezugsperon(en), denn er schnappt zu, wenn er sich bedrängt fühlt, daher soll er zu schäferhunderfahrenen Menschen ziehen. Wir wünschen uns für Thor ein Zuhause bei einfühlsamen und erfahrenen Menschen, die ihm in Ruhe und ohne Zeitdruck oder Erwartungshaltung zeigen, was ein gutes Hundeleben ist. Es sollte okay sein, wenn er nie wie ein normaler Hund Gassi gehen oder kuscheln will. Vielleicht ist er dann für die eine oder andere positive Überraschung gut. Ein sicher eingezäunter Garten mit direktem Zugang zum Haus ist Grundvoraussetzung. Da Thor nur schlechte Vermittlungschancen hat, würden wir uns sehr freuen, wenn jemand eine Patenschaft für ihn übernimmt. Befindet sich aktuell in Rumänien und darf ausreisen, wenn er ein Zuhause gefunden hat. Reist gechipt und geimpft (EU Impfpass; Impfungen: Tollwut und Grundimmunisierung). Alle Hunde werden bei ihrer Ankunft im Shelter sowie anschließend mindestens einmal jährlich gegen Darmparasiten und Ektoparasiten behandelt. Die geschilderten Verhaltensbeobachtungen basieren auf dem Alltag im Shelter und können sich in einem häuslichen Umfeld unter veränderten Lebensbedingungen entsprechend anders darstellen.
