Adopt Thor

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 4 months

Our little Thor was already a tiny puppy when he was abandoned in a nearby city in Spain. He was brought to the animal shelter, but that’s not a good place for such a small puppy. To ensure Thor is protected and well cared for, Spanish animal welfare workers found a foster family for him. Here, Thor lives with two other dogs and a cat, which works well. Even in his own home, friendly four-legged friends can already wait for Thor. Typically, Thor still has a lot of puppy energy and is very playful. He has boundless energy and will also need a family that can keep up with him in his later life. Thor is clever and enjoys using his smart little head. He is eager to learn and is already diligently practicing commands. He can be taught many things and Thor needs motivated, active people who enjoy working together and experiencing new adventures with him. Thor rewards his family with lots of love. With the right training, Thor will become the lifelong partner everyone dreams of – through thick and thin. This is Thor’s biggest dream!

About Thor

What life with Thor looks like

Thor is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Thor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Thor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Thor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Thor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Thor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Thor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Thor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
